GREENFIELD, Mass. (AP) - Authorities in Massachusetts say two people have been found dead in a tent in an area known as a camp site for homeless people.
A spokeswoman for the Northwestern district attorney says a man and woman were found Monday afternoon in a wooded area behind a McDonald's in Greenfield.
The cause of their deaths remains under investigation but no foul play is suspected. An autopsy revealed no obvious signs of trauma and the results of toxicology testing may take several weeks to get back.
They were found on a day when temperatures plunged into the single digits.
The man was identified Wednesday as 51-year-old Clayton Wheeler. The woman has been identified by authorities but her name has not been made public because authorities are still attempting to contact her family.
